3d Printed Grinder Contact Wheels

This is an expansion of the work done on small wheel design. The contact “drum” is printed from TPU, a polyurethane that’s tougher than natural rubber. The hardness can be modified by the percent infill used in the build. The hubs are printed in two pieces and clamp the drum into place. So the drum can be replaced. This will allow for specialty sizes and a low cost option to try some different sizes without committing to more expensive aluminum ones. With some long term testing success, they may be applicable for long term use. Proper maintenance of the bearings so they don’t overheat will be critical.
