About Me

I’ve been a custom knife maker for over 10 years making fixed knives, chef’s knives, and liner locks. I started with a limited budget making my own tools including my 3 speed 2 × 72 grinder. Through the years I’ve upgraded many of the tools I use, but there have been times I couldn’t find quite what I needed. Or they cost too much. Or were a bit too complicated. So, I started down the road of making a better knife vise. I wanted one that held securely, was easy to reposition, and easy to lock in place. I’ve been developing the latest design for a number of years through several generations of design and testing. The latest Clarke Clamp 3.0 is the result.

I’ve retired after 30 years as an Engineer with Chevron. Since then I’ve been working on other designs for tools incorporating 3d Printing to build prototypes for testing and to build tools for lower cost. I love solving problems. If you have an idea or need help in your knife making, drop me a message and we will see what we can come up with.
